Administrative history
The York Centre Horticultural Society was founded in 1940 as the Glen Park Horticultural Society. The name was changed to the York Centre Horticultural Society about 1954. Under that name, it existed until at least 1968. The Society was active in the suburban North York community around the intersection of Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue. It designed and maintained community landscapes such as that of the Asbury and West United Church. It also held regular shows and supported a junior society.
