Administrative history

The Ladies Auxiliary for Branch No. 55 of the Royal Canadian Legion received its Charter in 1931 and to this day remains active in the community. Although, it is a non-profit organization operated separately from the Royal Canadian Legion, they do support the aims and objectives of The Royal Canadian Legion, as well as helps to enrich the programs and activities of the Branch.

The Ladies’ Auxiliary is comprised of mothers, wives, daughters, stepdaughters, nieces, sisters, granddaughters, great granddaughters and widows of Legion members, as well as general members of the public that wish to join.

Any woman who is eligible for membership in the Legion may choose to become a member of the Ladies Auxiliary only, or a member of both organizations.

Custodial history

The County of Oxford Archives received the records from the Ladies Auxiliary for Branch No. 55 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Woodstock in April 2016.
