History
The Woodbridge Horticultural Society was established in 1923 and boasted a membership of 107 by the end of the year, and by 1930 numbered 475. The first officers were: Dr. Garnet D. McLean, president; Lillian McNeil, vice-president; B. Wallace, second vice-president; John G. Rolph, secretary-treasurer. The Society has hosted numerous flower shows which are the main social event of each season; members have exhibited at numerous garden shows, the O'Keeffe Centre, the Canadian National Exhibition, the Gladioli Show; many projects have been undertaken such as planting trees, flowers, and shrubs in public areas.
