Henry Buckingham Witton (1831-1921) a politician representing the working class, elected to Parliament for the riding of Hamilton, Ontario in 1872.
Born in South Lopham, Norfolk, England, Witton was elected for the riding of Hamilton as the "Workingman's Candidate," the first laboring man elected to the Dominion Parliament. He was a conservative and a supporter of Sir John A. MacDonald. Witton was also considered an amateur expert on the study of selenography (the study of the surface and physical features of the Moon).
