Biografie
William Furby (1799-1881) was born in Bridlington, Yorkshire, England. He was the husband of Ann Manning. He came to Port Hope in 1826 was the first printer in Port Hope and published the Gazette. He was the father of Fanny, John M., and Florence.
Geschiedenis beheer
Papers found in the attic of 1 Brown Drive, Port Hope, the former home of William Furby, one of the early printers in Port Hope. The house was originally on Walton Street, before it was moved.

Fonds consists of advertisement printing proofs, invoices, handwritten notes, and correspondence originally belonging to William Furby, printer and owner of the Port Hope Gazette, c1830-1850. For more detailed information, please refer to item-level descriptions.
