Martin Grove United Church, located in the Rexdale community of Etobicoke, was established on October 23, 1994 with the amalgamation of Rexdale United CHurch and West Humber United Church. The church, the former West Humber building, is located at 75 Pergola Road, at Martin Grove Road and Mercury Drive, near Highway 427. It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.
Rexdale United Church was established in 1956 at 87 Elmhurst Drive close to Islington Avenue. It closed in 1994 with its members joining Martin Grove United Church.
West Humber United Church was established on February 22, 1962 as a second congregation to serve the Rexdale community. The congregation first met at West Humber Public School and then beginning in May 20, 1962 met at a portable church at the corner of Martin Grove Road and Mercury Drive. A new building was erected and dedicated on November 27, 1966. The church closed in 1994 when it amalgamated with Rexdale United Church.
