Administrative history
Walton Memorial United Church was established 1925, formerly Methodist. Bronte Sunday School Union Society was established 1845, and active until at least 1854. Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church was established ca. 1880, and closed ca. 1924. A Board attached to Walton Memorial United Church continued to administer the cemetery. Walton Memorial Methodist Church was established ca. 1850 as Bronte Methodist Episcopal Church; its name was changed to Walton Memorial Methodist Church in 1914, and it joined the United Church in 1925.
