The Department of Kinanthropology is established in 1970 within the School of Physical Education. In 1978, the Department joins the School of Human Kinetics. The primary objective of the Department is to augment the body of knowledge pertaining to the biological and behavioral effects of physical activity in man and the factors which influence his performance in sports. The Department of Kinanthropology offers an undergraduate programme leading to a bachelor of science. It prepares the student to work in sports medicine, rehabilitation, fitness training counselling and coaching.
