        History

The Iwachniuk Ukrainian Studies and Research Fund are created by the Board of Governors in 1973, with the donation of Mrs. Nadia and Mr. Antin Iwachniuk to encourage research and publication in Ukrainian Studies. An advisory committee is constituted to administer the fund. In 1986, the Fund changes its name to become Ukrainian Studies and Research Endowments, since monies from other sources were added. It grants bursaries, research grants and enables the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures to invite an annual scholar-in-residence in Ukrainian Studies.
