        History

        The TGH Board of Trustees was succeeded by the Board of Trustees of The Toronto Hospital with the creation of The Toronto Hospital Corporation in 1986. The Board of Trustees was composed of twenty-eight appointed and elected members, with representation from the Province of Ontario, the City of Toronto, and the University of Toronto.

        The TTH Board of Trustees appointed standing committees. These standing committees included the Audit Committee, Planning Committee, Finance Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, Accident Prevention Committee, Research Committee, Nominating Committee and Joint Relations Committee to regularly report back to the Board on various aspects of the management of hospital management and services. The Board also appointed special committees such as the Human Resources Committee.

        Mr. P.A. Crossgrove (1986-1992), Mr. Fraser M Fell (1992-1994) and Mr. Fredrik Eaton (1994-1999) have served as Chairs of the TTH Board of Trustees.
