Under the authority of the Medical Advisory Board, this Committee was responsible for formulating policies and regulations governing the use of operating rooms at the TGH, including scheduling, traffic control, duties of surgeons/nurses/anaesthetists, instrument sterilization. The Committee was also responsible for maintaining the TGH Operating Room Policy and Procedure Manual, and for collecting and maintaining statistics on the use of TGH operating rooms, including the number, type, duration and outcome of surgeries.
Dr. F.G. Pearson ([1969?]-1971), Dr. J.E. Morgan (1972-September 1974), Dr. E.B. Tovee (November 1974-May 1978), Dr. J.P. Kostvik (October 1978-August 1983), and Dr. S. Teasdale (October 1983- ) chaired the Committee.
