Administrative history

Thames Road - Elimville Pastoral Charge, also known as Thames Road Pastoral Charge, was formed in 1925. It included Thames Road and Elimville, and until ca. 1950 Roy's Church. In 2001, it became a single-point charge when Thames Road and Elimville amalgamated to form Thames Road-Elimville United Church in the Thames Road church building. It is still an active congregation of the United Church.

Thames Road United Church, located east of Exeter on Highway 83 at the corner of Concession No. 6 of Usborne Township was established in 1925, formerly Presbyterian. The Presbyterian Church at Thames Road was established in 1857. It joined the United Church of Canada in 1925 with the Bethany Methodist Church to form Thames Road United Church. It amalgamated with Elimville United Church in 2001 to form Thames Road-Elimville United Church.

Elimville United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. Methodists began meeting in the area as early as 1851 in private homes. The Elimville Methodist Church would later form part of Elimville Methodist Circuit, which included Elimville, Bethany, Zion, Silvan, Rehoboth, Freewill, Eldad and Prospect. It joined the United Church of Canada in 1925. It disbanded on June 30, 2001 with the congregation amalgamating with Thames Road to form Thames Road-Elimville United Church.
