History

Leonard W. Taylor was raised in Woodstock, Ontario and served during World War II as a major in the Canadian Intelligence Corps and as a Senior Canada Press Sensor with SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force). Following the War, he worked as a newspaper journalist in Kitchener, Ontario and in Vancouver, before retiring in 1982. As Co-Chair of the Joe Boyle Repatriation Committee, he was instrumental in having Joe Boyle's remains returned to Woodstock. He has written several books on Joe Boyle including "Klondike Joe Boyle: The Legend and Truth" and "The Sourdough & The Queen: The Many Lives of Klondike Joe Boyle"
