Thomas Richards (fl. 1875-1882) was a Hudson's Bay Company Factor at Fort William (now Thunder Bay), Ontario during the 1870's and 1880's.

J.H. George Taylor (b. Cardiff, S. Wales, 1886-d. Fort William 1964) moved to Fort William in 1905 and joined the Fort William police force the following year. He took over from Angus McLellan as Chief Constable of Port Arthur in 1920 and retired in 1951.

Adelaide Taylor (d. 1986) was born and raised in York Factory. Her father, Ashton Alston, was Hudson's Bay Co. factor at the post in York Factory and her uncle, Archdeacon Richard Faries, was missionary. She married Charles Taylor and moved to Port Arthur where she was a columnist for the local newspapers. She also wrote articles in various publications and children's stories as well as poems.

John Thomson Taylor (1870-1955) was a Presbyterian/United Church missionary to India. He was born near Galt, Ontario. In 1899, he married Harriet Ellen Copeland and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister. The same year, the Taylors went to India to work as missionaries. Rev. Taylor served as Principal of the Theological Seminary at Indore. He retired from the United Church in 1945.

Scope and content
Fonds consists of the miscellaneous papers of members of the Taylor family. Deals with subjects of police work, mayor C.W. Cox and social activities. Also includes material that originated with Thomas Richards, who was steward of the Hudson's Bay Co. post at Fort William at the end of the nineteenth century, and his wife Mary F. Richards.
