Administrative history

Tactical Air Command was formed as No. 11 Group of North West Air Command at Winnipeg, Manitoba on 1 March 1947. It was re-designated Tactical Group on 1 April 1949 and it became autonomous on 15 January 1951. It merged with North West Air Command on 1 August 1951 to form Tactical Air Group and it was elevated to Tactical Air Command on 1 June 1953. It was disbanded on 1 January 1959.

Series consist of 166 files regarding North West Air Command, Tactical Air Group, No. 1 Tactical Air Command and Tactical Air Command during 1944 to 1961.
