    Administrative history

St. Peter's was at one time situated in the village of Woodlands, one mile distant from the present village of Ingleside. The church was established sometime before 1800 by United Empire Loyalists, the first settlers in the district. A brick parsonage had been built by 1884. St. Peter's, Woodlands was moved in 1892 to a site obtained from Mr. Gordon Baker in Osnabruck Centre. In 1925, the interior of St. Peter's Church was completely renovated. On August 29, 1931 a fire destroyed a large part of the village including St. Peter's. The church was rebuilt and consecration by Bishop John Charles Roper took place on May 29, 1933. As a result of the St. Lawrence Seaway and Hydro Project, St. Peter's in the new town of Ingleside was built to replace St. David's, Wales, St. Paul's, Aultsville, St. Peter's, Osnabruck Centre, and St. George's, Gallingertown. The last service at the Osnabruck site was held September 30, 1959 when Bishop Ernest Samuel Reed secularized St. Peter's Church.
