Services were held in Carleton Heights Public School alternately with the United Church. Money received from the sale of St. Peter's, Alfred was put toward the building of a new church at Carleton Heights. Ground was broken in July of 1954 by the Ven. C.G. Hepburn. St. Mark the Evangelist, Carleton Heights was dedicated by Bishop Ernest Samuel Reed on February 24, 1955. A rectory was obtained for the parish in 1957. Bishop Reed dedicated the parish hall, link and transepts at St. Mark's on November 5, 1966. St. Mark's hall was renamed as the Bishop Reed Memorial Hall by Bishop William J. Robinson on November 1, 1970. The 50th anniversary of St. Mark the Evangelist was celebrated in 1999.
