    Administrative history

Glen Almond began as an outstation in the parish of Buckingham. In 1899, Julienne Lonsdale sold the land for the Glen Almond church to Bishop William Bennett Bond of Montreal and construction was begun. St. John's, Glen Almond was consecrated by Coadjutor Bishop James Carmichael of Montreal on June 26, 1904. In 1962, Glen Almond was removed from the listing of active congregations and was closed. The Church of St. John's was reopened in 1983 and is presently in the parish of the Eastern Outaouais.
