Administrative history
Trinity Church, Leslie (Otter Lake) was built of logs in 1865. On August 19, 1886, Bishop William Bennett Bond of Montreal laid the cornerstone for a new stone church. St. James', Leslie was built on land donated by Mr. Thomas Stephens. The old Trinity Church was sold and used as a blacksmith's shop. St. James' was consecrated in 1888. In 1965, when the Deanery of Clarendon was transferred from the Diocese of Montreal to the Diocese of Ottawa, St. James', Leslie became known as St. James', Otter Lake. St. James' has been part of the parish of the Parish of the Northern Pontiac since 1995.
