Administrative history
The congregation of St. Columba's, Manor Park began in 1948 at an old public school which was purchased in 1950. Bishop Robert Jefferson blessed the previously purchased school building to be used as the church of St. Columba's on January 20, 1952. A chancel and sanctuary were added to the church during 1953. By 1957, a rectory had been erected. The cornerstone for a new St. Columba's was laid on December 5, 1959 by Bishop Ernest Samuel Reed. Bishop Reed opened and dedicated St. Columba's Church and Hall, Manor Park on March 17, 1960. The old church building was demolished. The colours for the “Princess Louise Dragoon Guards” were laid up in St. Columba's on November 15, 1964. St. Columba's, Ottawa was consecrated by Bishop E. K. Lackey on October 19, 1989.
