The decision to create a new parish in the rapidly growing West Mountain area was made in August 1960. Rev. J.D. Rathbone was appointed rector and services were held first on Sanatorium Road and later at Mohawk Trail Public School. Construction began on the parish hall in September 1960 and the first services were held in the hall in January 1961. The church is located on Mohawk Road West at Garth Street.
