The first service in St. Andrew's, Vars was held in 1889 and the church was consecrated by Bishop Charles Hamilton of Niagara on May 28, 1890. Residents previously attended Holy Trinity Church, Bearbrook. Improvements were made on the church in 1901 and in 1929, the exterior of the church was painted. A new foundation was put under St. Andrew's Church by 1932. St. Andrew's celebrated the 50th anniversary of the opening of the church on September 28, 1939. Renovations and repairs were made to the church in the 1950's and 1960's. The rectory at Vars was sold around 1993.

Fonds consists of records of the activities of St. Andrew's congregation in Vars, Ontario. It includes vestry records, 1912-1980, service registers, 1912-1969, financial records, property records, special services and events material, correspondence, historiography, newsclippings, and photographs.
