Dear father:
Just a line to let you know that I have purchased oil stove as requested. Sent same home yesterday under separate cover by Canadian Express. Hope you received same. Kindly acknowledge receipt of same. There is a rumour out ow that we will be going overseas before Xmas. We had an inspection of whole Battn this afternoon by about a dozen different officers which

to convince me that we are apt to be moved out any time. Willie got back last night. The Band has to play at Masonic temple this evening for the boxing bout. I wanted to go anyway & by playing we will not have to pay to get in & also get our car care paid was out for dinner

and supper yesterday.
Had a walk of at least 2 ½ miles to church yesterday morning. Last Wed. the Battn was on an 18 mile route march. We left at 9 a.m. Had two stops of 5 minutes each up to 12 noon, then had half an hour for dinner. We then continued journey with but one stop of about three minutes & arrived back at barracks at 2.00 p.m.

Last Friday evening we left at 7 P.M. for route march across country. Had to pass over several freshly ploughed fields, down lanes, through couple of bushes and had to jump couple of creeks. It was an ideal night for same and same was enjoyed by all. It was quite slippery and as we had to advance speechless it made it all the more interesting. Will have another the end of this week. Not much other news so will close. Loving son. Sheldon
