Dear Bro.
Your welcome letter of Mar 1st received yesterday. Also one from Papa + Mama. I presume mother sent you my letter about our trip across ocean + also about my visit to London so will not mention anything else about that. I requested them to forward you the letters which I hope they did. I was put in quarantine on Thurs with slight attack of scabies. Harry Ellis + two others are in our hut with me + we have it fine. Go to bed about 10 p.m. + get up when we feel like it. We take a bath every day

and then are bathed with sulphur ointment. I took a dose of saults yesterday + it certainly cleaned me out. I did a big washing on Sat. Washed my own clothes and also for two other parties making 2S6 £ = 60. I had to do something to get some cash. Have only had one pay since we landed outside of 4 £ we received before going on pass to London which was 1 £. We spend most of our cash on eats, as our daily foods are very little + boys are complaining daily. I have never felt so hungry in all my career. Feel like eating all the time. Sat. afternoon all camps

were mobilized in readiness to go to France. Willie was down to Hazhmere for afternoon but was sent back + ordered to pack up. They were kept out in full marching order until 1 a.m. Sunday in readiness to go depending further orders. I am back to be where I am. However he has not gone on yet + they are not certain whether they are going as yet but will know definitely by to-night. I am trying to get away as transport driver + hope I succeed. The weather to-day is quite cold + have had few scattered snow falls. Have not seen any Zepps as yet nor do I expect

to as they are well prepared for them + stand but little chance of getting over here. There is a great battle on 50 mile front now + the Allies certainly have been making great progress within the last three weeks. We believe that the war will be over this summer + I hope it will. Lloyd was on his last leave last Friday + he came up + spend a day with Willie + I. He certainly is looking fine + is a full fledged Lieut in flying corps. Has a night to fly any machine. He said he nearly lost his life a week ago when his machine fell a distance of 1200 ft. He got it

under control when within about 400 ft of earth. He had to report at war office in London last Tues. + expect his is somewhere in France by now. Well Walter I really do not know what else to say so will ring off. Hope you are well. Will be pleased to hear from you at any time. In regards to booze, I might say there is plenty of it here but have never been seen in saloons + absolutely have refused to touch it as I know I am better without it.
