Dear Brother:
I regret that we I haven’t written you a letter before this. I forwarded you a postal at Liss a week ago + hope you receive same. I returned to camp after two days weeks at the ranges under canvas last Sat afternoon. Tues morning I was put on a drill course at divisional Headquarters which was to run for three weeks. Friday morning we were all warned for draft + so were all up before the M.D. I was taken off of course + the boys on signalling course

are not being let off. There are only eight W’loo boys going. They are Art Vile, Pysre Bros, Tom + Harry Garner, F. Weston, J. J. Jones, Wm Mansfield, Willie + I. We were inspected this morning by the O.C.D. also by the Brigadier. There is about ¾ of 118th Battn on draft. We leave here Tues morning for Seaforth where we shall remain for a week + from there go to France. We got a line from Uncle Washie last Sat stating that Lloyd was missing. I can hardly believe it as it seems but a short time since he was up to see us. Willie has been trying to get full particulars but up to present have not

heard any news. I hope that he has not been killed. He was in the big air raid of Apr 4th + 5th + has never shown up. I received a letter from Walter + he said he was seriously thinking of enlisting. I wrote him a strong letter about it + I wish you would also. Take my advice + stay where you are as papa would not like to see any more of his boys go. There are two of us here now + that should be enough. We had Harry Louder here for a couple of hours this afternoon + sure enjoyed his renderings. He is going to France shortly to play for the wounded + boys in

the trenches. Last night I went to a concert at Hazlemere given by a party from London. Cost us 1 S. I bought papa a fountain pen which also cost 12 S 6 D. Also had my photo taken last week + cost me 5 S apiece. I would like to have a dozen but cannot afford it. I am getting there, to send home. They are the best photos I have ever had. Well Orley I will have to close as lights out. Will be pleased to hear from you. Address all mail to present address until otherwise directed as same will be forwarded. Hope you are well + like your new job. If you write papa be sure + cheer him up.
Your loving brother
