    Sandor Kertesz (1911-1990) was a prominent Hungarian actor and director who established the Hungarian Art Theatre in Toronto, Ontario.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of records created or accumlated by Sandor Kertesz relating primarily to the Hungarian Art Theatre of Toronto. Records include professional correspondence, scripts, programs, and photographs of the activities of the Hungarian Art Theatre of Toronto (HATT). The fonds also includes lectures on Hungarian literature, authored and delivered by Sandor Kertesz, as well as sound recordings of some performances. Also included are awards of recognition, from the Multicultural Theatre Association, the Mayor of Toronto and the government of Hungary, given to Sandor Kertesz for his contributions to the Hungarian community and multicultural arts of the city. The records in this fonds have been arranged into three series.
