Scope and content

Fonds consists principally of black and white portrait photographs of First World War soldiers, collected and maintained by Rodney Branch 525, Royal Canadian Legion. Most but not all portrait subjects had a personal or familial connection to the Village of Rodney, the Township of Aldborough and/or the West Elgin region. Fonds also includes two black and white photographs showing members of the 91st Overseas Battalion, C.E.F., assembling and marching in Rodney, Ontario, February 25, 1916. Fonds also includes a typescript note, 1989, on Branch letterhead, concerning the photographs previously framed and displayed at the Clachan Hall.
