Michael Lynch
The series contains records pertaining to research being undertaken by Lynch or conferences he attended or organized. This includes research and conferences around AIDS, homosexuality, homophobia, gay rights and issues. There is included articles for the body politic and other journals, as well as research and news clippings for festivals and plays. Some materials came from un-named folders or were kept in boxes with no description. These have been complied into folders titles “mixed materials.” Two major areas of research included in the series includes work on Marsden Hartley and Walt Whitman. The Hartley section includes correspondence with individuals and institutions on Hartley’s work, slide images of Hartley’s paintings, and photos of places Hartley painted at. The Whitman section includes correspondence and conference materials relating to the Whitman in Ontario Conference in 1980. It also includes notes, book proposal, correspondence, manuscripts, and slides on the topic of Whitman.
