Scope and content
This series contains various publications related to the study of medicine and Dr. F. W. Luney’s time in medical school. Most of the publications are small, pocket-sized reference books providing practice and procedure information for a variety of ailments and medical scenarios. Also included are histories, satirical works, a formulary, a bulletin and a printed edition of the Coroner’s Act, revised in 1940. Dr. Luney’s own University of Western Ontario YMCA Handbook and University of Western Ontario Medical Handbook are also included, the latter containing handwritten notes in the memorandum section. One folder contains clipped images and textual passages from A History of Medicine in Pictures by George A. Bender. There are also publications from the University of Western Ontario, including reports from the Institute of Public Health, and a booklet containing information about studies in the Faculty of Medicine, all of which mention Dr. Luney and the positions he held. Finally, there is a copy of the University of Western Ontario Medical Journal from 1934.
