In 1975, a Lutheran congregation was formed and met at St. Francis Separate Community School in London. The name Prince of Peace was chosen and was officially organized in 1976 as a congregation within the Ontario District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (now East District of Lutheran Church-Canada). When the founding pastor accepted a call from another congregation in 1978, without another pastor available, the congregation closed at the end of the year.
