Presteign - Woodbine United Church, located at 16 Presteign Ave, near O'Connor Drive and St. Clair Ave. East. in Toronto, was established in 1986 with the amalgamation of Presteign United Church and Woodbine Avenue United Church. The congregation used the Presteign Avenue church for its services. On June 1, 2017, Presteign - Woodbine United Church amalgamated with Leaside United Church at 822 Millwood Road at Leaside building.
Woodbine Avenue United Church, at 704 Mortimer Avenue in Toronto, was established as the Gledhill Methodist mission in 1918. In 1921 a permanent building was erected at the current site named Woodbine Heights Methodist Church. In 1925 it joined the United Church with the name Woodbine Avenue. In 1986 it amalgamated with Presteign to form Presteign-Woodbine United Church in the Presteign building.
Presteign United Church was established in the fall of 1951 following a proposal from community members to start a congregation.Services began at Presteign Height Schoool and at times the congregation was referred to as Parkview Heights United Church. A constitution was formed on June 20, 1952. A building opened at 16 Presteign Avenue on May 2, 1954. In 1986 it amalgamated with Woodbine Avenue United Church to form Presteign-Woodbine United Church in the Presteign building.
