In 1963, a group of Lutherans met for worship at the Presbyterian Church in Exeter as part of a dual parish with Zion Lutheran Church in Dashwood. In 1964, Peace Lutheran Church in Exeter was officially organized as a congregation within the Ontario District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (now East District of Lutheran Church-Canada). In 1965, a church was built and, in 1976, the dual parish agreement ended. In 1988, the congregation formally joined Lutheran Church-Canada. The congregation dissolved in July 1991.
