The Observer Team to Nigeria (OTN) was authorized, outside the auspices of the United Nations, in September 1968 to observe the Nigerian Armed Forces to ascertain if they were following their own code of conduct and to investigate charges that the military was guilty of genocide. It ceased operations in 1970.

Fonds consists of 116 photographs documenting the activities of the Observer Team to Nigeria (OTN) during 1968-1969. Subjects covered include: refugees; refugee camps; Nigerian Army; contingents of the Canadian, Polish, Swedish and British armies; aerial photographs; markets; and hospitals.
