Scope and content
Series contains files on the role of Public Works Canada (PWC) in creating a fixed link between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. The series is divided into four sections. The first one is historical and contains announcements and studies before the start of the Confederation Bridge project. The second series documents PWC and other federal institutions determining the best way to cross the strait. The third one contains consultant studies, reports and evaluations of various technical problems in crossing the strait. The final section contains the technical submissions from the first round of tender proposals from 12 construction consortia wanting to construct a bridge or tunnel across the Northumberland Strait.
