Administrative history
No. 11 Group of North West Air Command was formed on 1 March 1947 and it was located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. On 1 April 1949, it was re-designated Tactical Group. It became autonomous on 15 January 1951 and, on 1 August 1951, it merged with the North West Air Command to create the Tactical Air Group and moved to Edmonton, Alberta.
