Newton McFaul MacTavish (1875-1941) was the editor of the Canadian Magazine from 1906 to 1926 and a pioneering art historian who authored The Fine Arts in Canada (1925).

Fonds consists of Newton MacTavish’s correspondence with Canadian artists and writers active in the early decades of the twentieth century. His personal library is also included.
