General note
Between August 1976 and July 1977, Brodeur was selected to attend the National Defence College in Kingston to take the Course XXX, which was designed to broaden officers’ backgrounds in national and world affairs, economy and politics in preparation for higher office. However, it was also designed to bring not only all military personnel together in one venue, but also ordinary citizens of different backgrounds. Therefore, as many non-military students attended as did military personnel. The course addressed all the regions of Canada, the United States, and the World and students were flown to many locations around the country and the world as part of their studies.
