Napanee Methodist Episcopal Circuit was formed in 1843, having previously been part of the Bay of Quinte Circuit; the Napanee Circuit was temporarily discontinued in 1846, and at this time again became part of the Bay of Quinte Circuit; in 1852, the Napanee Circuit was re-formed; it became part of the Methodist Church (C.N.B.) in 1884; together, the Napanee and Bay of Quinte Circuits comprised points in the Townships of Richmond, Camden East, Ernestown, North Fredericksburg, South Fredericksburg, Adolphustown, Tyendinaga, Sheffield, Sophiasburg, North Marysburg, and South Marysburg, including Napanee, Bath, and Hay Bay.

Fonds consists of baptisms, 1835-1854, of Bay of Quinte and Napanee Circuits; Quarterly Board minutes, 1837-1852, of Bay of Quinte Circuit; Quarterly Board minutes, 1843-1869 of Napanee Circuit; and financial records, 1841-1845.
