Susanna Moodie (1803-1885) was an author known for her writings about pioneer life in Upper Canada. She was the youngest daughter of Thomas Strickland and Elizabeth Homer and sister of Catharine Parr Traill and Samuel Strickland. She wrote anti-slavery tracts, journal articles and books including "Roughing it in the Bush" in 1852 and "Life in the Clearing" in 1853.
