Administrative history
Ministere Multilangue (Multicultural Ministries) or MM originated in 1969. Rev. Fred H. Parlee of the Evangel Pentecostal Church in Montreal identified the need for a literature and correspondence course ministry in French. This ministry was very successful and grew to the extent that it could no longer be supported by a local church. The National Home Mission Department of the PAOC assumed responsibility for what became Quebec Literature Crusade (QLC). It was governed by the National French Literature Committee chaired by the Executive Director of Home Missions and Bible Colleges. The Quebec Literature Crusade became Language Literature Ministeries (LLM) in 1986 and is now known as Ministere Multilangue to reflect the true multicultural nature of the ministry. The early years of the QLC and LLM saw the dissemination of correspondence courses and the development of translations. Now Ministere Multilangue is involved in publishing, translation, wholesaling of Christian books and materials, and in operating Christian bookstores in Quebec known as Diffusion Vie. Until 2000, Ministere Multilangue was the responsibility of the Home Missions and Bible College Department and then, after an organizational change, the Ministries Division. In the year 2000 it became the responsibility of the Quebec District Conference of the PAOC.
