William F. Lawrence was born in Trafalgar Township on June 21[?], 1820 and died March 18, 1898. He married Elizabeth [Arin?] Lawrence of Erin, Ontario (b. 18 December 1827, d. 19 August 1890) on September 15, 1846. William Lawrence worked for a time as a blacksmith in Otterville, Ontario before moving to Windham. The couple had eleven children [Phebe?] Lawrence (b. 13 May 1848, d. 16 May 1848), John Lawrence (b. 17 August 1849, d. 13 September 1861), Mary Jane Lawrence (b. 9 August 1851, d. 24 March 1859), William Francis Lawrence (b. 9 August 1851, d. 12 February 1888), Susan Lawrence (b. 28 March 1853, d. unknown), Silvester Lawrence (b. 10 March 1855, d. 21 August 1932), Calvin Lawrence (b. 20 January 1857, d. 4 May 1930), Abigail Elizabeth Lawrence (b. 20 June 1859, d. 11 August 1875), Joshua Lawrence (b. 7 May 1861, d. 13 March 1927), Elsey Ardel Lawrence (b. 20 July 1863, d. 3 July 1879), Martha Ann Lawrence (b. 14 September 1867, d. unknown).
Three of the Lawrence children were born in Otterville, Mary Jane, William Francis and Susan. Joshua Lawrence was married in Norwich in 1891 and died in Woodstock in 1927. He lived and worked as a farmer in Windham for several years after his marriage before moving to Oxford Centre with his family where he farmed until his death.
