Melville United Church was established in 1925, formerly Presbyterian; in 1926 it was joined by the congregation of Wesley United Church. Fergus Methodist Church was established ca. 1848 as a Wesleyan Methodist Church; it joined the United Church in 1925, becoming Wesley United Church. Melville Presbyterian was established ca. 1845; it joined the United Church in 1925. Wesley United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist; it closed in 1926, its congregation joining Melville United Church, with a Trustee Board continuing to administer property matters
