Administrative history

The position of General Counsel and Director of Medical/Legal Affairs was first listed under the Executive Committee in the TTH Annual Report for 1996. Prior to the combination of Medical and Legal Affairs in one office, there was a position for Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs which was held as late as 1992 by Dr. W. McIlroy.

The General Counsel and Director of Medical/Legal Affairs reported directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer. In addition to the management of legal affairs, this department was responsible for the credentialing of medical staff and also acted as administrative support to the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC). This department also oversaw Risk Management as early as 1994.

The position of General Counsel and Director of Medical/Legal Affairs for TTH was held by Ms. Bella R. Martin from [1994]-1999.
