        Elisha Newton McConnell (1877-1940) was a political cartoonist who worked for the Toronto Daily News in the early twentieth century.

        He was born in Lakeside, Elgin County, Ontario in 1877. He graduated from the Ontario School of Art in 1900, and worked for Saturday Night magazine and a humour magazine called "The Moon". He worked for the Toronto Daily News for 26 years,15 of them as political cartoonist. His work was reproduced extensively in Canada, the United States and Britain.
