Leading Aircraftswoman Betty Marwood is the daughter of Thomas H. Marwood, and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Women's Division in July 1943. She trained in photography at RCAF Station Rockcliffe, and was stationed both there and at RCAF Station Mont Joli, Quebec. She worked on the air photo survey of the Yukon and Northwest Territories, for which there were no maps at the time, and on processing done at the Rockcliffe Map Room. She was discharged at Lachine, Quebec in August 1945. After the war she did a masters degree in Social Work and worked extensively in northern Ontario. She lived for a number of years in Manotick.
