Biographical history

Mark Chochla, M.Ed., was a teacher/librarian at Selkirk High School and later at Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He is a writer and researcher of local history and a contributor to and editor of the TBHMS Papers and Records and other publications. He served as a board member and president of the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society.

Scope and content

This material was collected as part of Mark Chochla’s Master of Education thesis at Lakehead University, on the subject of education on the railway school cars in Northern Ontario, accepted in 1987. Most of the material, including interviews, was compiled in the previous year. The collection consists of two main series: files of research notes and taped interviews. The research notes include photocopies.
