Biographical history
Margaret Jane Scott (Maggie) (1881-1905) was born at Fitzroy in Carleton County, Ontario. She, and her twin sister Ida, were born to Annie Knox and Archibald Scott. The two sisters were educated at the Lindsay Model School and the Toronto Normal School. Both girls were teachers and taught for a time at Lindsay and Toronto schools. Before living in Omemee, the family resided at Perth, near Ottawa, Ontario.

Fonds consists of the original diary of Margaret Jane Scott. The diary covers the period of time Margaret spent in Toronto at Normal School. Also included in the fonds, is a typescript copy of the diary which is bound and includes an introduction, photograph and a section entitled conversations with Ida Scott which was produced in September 12, 1994.
