        History

        The Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Ontario District, was formed in 1949. The purpose of the league was to support Lutheran missionary activities around the world. The Ontario District league was divided into numerous local zones within the province. From 1949 to 1993, the League was under the direction of the International Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Following the creation of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League-Canada in 1993, the league in the Ontario District came under its jurisdiction.
