    Administrative history

    The Loyal Orange Association is a Protestant fraternal society that has been active in Canada for over 200 years. The Association's aims have included the promotion of the Protestant concept of the Christian religion; a united Canada with a strong central government where all provinces are equal; and a constitutional Monarchical system of government. The Association also supports various charities and promotes patriotism. Since World War II, the membership of the Association has steadily declined.

    Custodial history

    Large portions of the collection were received from the Kincardine Loyal Orange Lodge, which collected materials from various chapters as they disbanded over the years. and from Robert Edgson through separate donations Other portions of the collection have been donated by various individuals over the years.

    Scope and content

    This fonds consists of records accumulated by various Loyal Orange Lodges, of the Loyal Orange Association of British America, chiefly within the area of Bruce County, Ontario, including:
