    Elizabeth Eleanor Lowthian Minnitt was the daughter of Eleanor Ann Brown Lowthian and Valentine Lowthian. Eleanor Ann Brown married Valentine Lowthian from West Delaware, Caradoc Township, . Elizabeth, known as "Bessie", was born January 31, 1892 in West Delaware, Cardoc Township. Delaware, Bessie married her husband, Eric Minnitt, on October 27, 1917 in Christ Church, Delaware, Ontario. Eric ArthurMinnitt was born on December 5, 1890 in Streatham, Surrey, england. He immigrated to Canada in 1912 and worked as a Banker in Caradoc Township Eric Minnitt died on June 9, 1956. Bessie and Eric are buried in Oakland Cemetery Delaware.

    Bessie Minnitt was a local pianist and musician. Eric Minnitt, also a musician as well as a composer although Census records show that he was listed as a Banker.

    The records in this Fonds include correspondence from several area families who were related to Bessie as well as corresondence from Eric's parents in Surrey, England. Bessie's sister, Marjorie, married Clarence Elmer Blosdale. There is correspondence from Marjorie to Bessie as well as to their Mother, "Ann" Lowthian. Bessie and Eric had twin daughters: Dorothy Minnitt (May 12, 1919-September 6, 2006 and Elizabeth "Betty" Winifred Minnitt who died in 2011. Dorothy married Alvin Albert Anderson (June 9, 1919-20 October 2013) and Betty married Hugh Osborne Moyer (June 17,1914-August 9,1971). These families are buried in Oakland Cemetery Delaware, Ontario. This family information was provided by local historian and genealogist, Sid Prior.
